OFELIA BETANCOR CRUZ

BA in Economics and Business (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1989), MSc in Economics (Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, 1993) and PhD in Economics (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1998). She has participated in several research projects, most of them for the European Commission. She is now an Associate Professor in Economics at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas and is responsible of research on Transport Economics at FEDEA (Fundación de Estudios de Economía Aplicada) in Madrid.

JAVIER CAMPOS MÉNDEZ

BA in Economics and Business (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1989), MSc in Economics (London School of Economics, 1993). He has worked as a consultant for the World Bank in transport regulation projects and has also undertaken similar works for the European Commission and the Spanish Ministry of Transport. Since 2001 he is Associate Professor in Applied Economics at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

GERARDO DELGADO AGUIAR

BA in Geography and History (specializng in Geography, 1984) and PhD in Geography (1989) by the University of La Laguna and International Masters in E-Learning Institutional Design (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, 2003). He is Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Geography and History at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He has participated in several research projects in collaboration with Mexican and Spanish Universities such as the Universidad Nacional Autónoma of México, the Universidad Autónoma "Benito Juárez" of Oxaca and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

GINÉS DE RUS MENDOZA

BA in Economics (1977), MSc in Transport Economics (University of Leeds, 1985) and PhD in Economics (University of Leeds, 1989). Director of the Master in Transport Economics at University Carlos III of Madrid. He has worked for the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Spanish Competition Authority and the Spanish Ministry of Economy. At present, he is Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). He also collaborates with the University Carlos III of Madrid where he teaches Cost-Benefit Analysis.

MARIANELA GONZÁLEZ SERRANO

BA in Economics (1990) and PhD in Economics (2004) by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She has worked on research projects both for public and private institutions, at national and international level, such as the World Bank, the Spanish government, the Canary Islands Regional Government and the BBVA Foundation. Since 1995 she is Associate Professor in Applied Economics at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

JUAN LUIS JIMÉNEZ GONZÁLEZ

BA in Economics (1999), MSc in Economics Analysis (2001) and PhD in Economics (2005) by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canarias. He has participated in several projects for different institutions such as the European Commission, the Chilean Government, the Spanish Ministry of Transport and the Canary Islands Regional Government. Since he is Lecturer at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

ROBERTO RENDEIRO MARTÍN-CEJAS

Insdustrial Engineer by the Polytechnic University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, MSc in Transport Economics (Institute for Transport Studies, Leeds) and PhD in Economics and Business (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). He is Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Mª PILAR SOCORRO QUEVEDO

BA in Economics, Lecturer at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She also studied at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, where she completed an MSc in Economics in 2001 and a PhD in Economics in 2004. Her areas of interest are Information Theory and Microeconomics, and she currently works on projects related to Institutional Design and Game Theory.

BEATRIZ TOVAR DE LA FÉ

BA in Economics and Business (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1990) and M.S. Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research (Kiel Institute of World Economics) and a PhD in Economics (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 2002). She has consulted for the Canary Islands Regional Government, Spanish government, BBVA Foundation, the European Commission, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and the World Bank. Since 1990 she has been a Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

LOURDES TRUJILLO CASTELLANO

Professor of Economics at the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She is BA in Economics and Business (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1985) and MBA in Economics (Instituto de Empresa de Madrid, 1986) and PhD in Economics (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1993). She has consulted for the Canary Islands Regional Government, the Spanish Government, BBVA Foundation, the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the African Development Bank and the World Bank.

CARLOS J. PÉREZ

BA in Economics by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2003) and a Ph.D. in Economics by the Carlos III University of Madrid (2011). He works in economic theory and has participated in several projects on econometric theory, rules of aggregation and collective choice, and institutional economics.
